Alicia Schwarz is one of the most experienced governance, compliance, and risk executives in the country — and one of the few who has operated at the intersection of Fortune 100 legal leadership and emerging AI governance.

As SVP and Chief Compliance Officer at The Walt Disney Company, Alicia served as the company's primary legal and sanctions officer during the Russia/Ukraine crisis, advising the CEO and Senior Executive Management Team on one of the most consequential real-time compliance situations in modern corporate history. She led the governance integration of Disney's $71 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox — consolidating legal, compliance, and governance frameworks across hundreds of independent entities operating across more than 60 countries. She managed Disney's responses to the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and U.S. Department of Treasury, and reported directly to the Board of Directors' Audit Committee.

Before Disney, Alicia practiced at Hughes Hubbard & Reed in Washington, D.C., advising Fortune 500 and multinational clients on anti-corruption, trade compliance, internal investigations, and regulatory enforcement. She served as legal counsel during a landmark $40 million global settlement with U.S. and U.K. authorities — part of the first-ever joint independent compliance monitorship appointed simultaneously by the DOJ and the U.K. Serious Fraud Office.

Today, Alicia advises boards, audit committees, and C-suites on governance, AI risk, and enterprise compliance — bringing the perspective of someone who has managed these matters from the inside, at the highest level, under genuine consequence.
